Vogue Turkiye has been on the newsstands last week and its been huge.I bought the heavy first issue and its so clear that they worked on it so hard.Theres one thing that is so clear theres a heavy financial aid behind them. They had months to prepare the first issue and they have great financial opportunities than other magazines' Turkey editions. So its clear that Vogue Turkey has the power behind what else its needle. They have so many great editorials that photoshoots have been done in many different locations from New York,Mardin,Istanbul to Bodrum...My favorite editorial is BATILI GÖÇMEN at Mardin(photographer: Mariano Vivanco, model: Andrea Diaconu). Its very ethnic and colourful.Anothere editorial I like is with elf top-model Heather Marks, location: Sirkeci Train Station to my campus SantralIstanbul...
They also have art pages including -REMEMBER MY POST ON ART EXHIBIT SEMIHA BERKSOY- they have a great article on famous painter.
The cover model is Jessica Stam as we all know and the behind the scenes photographs are here.
photogragher Patrick Demarchelier and the location is his studio at New York.Theres also a small editorial so they worked on both editorial and the cover shoot.Pranksters smile and look on the cover was not really their cover photo but then they chose it as the cover photo because of the different look and smile(as editorial Seda Domanic writes in her article on how they choose the cover photo).
IMHO the cover model should have been someone more Turkish not a Scandinavian look model with almost white blond hair pale skin and blue eyes.Because the significant Turkish women are mostly dark colours I mean more darker hair and darker eyes.Thats maybe someone like Fernanda Tavares.get it?
anyways maybe I am so bored of seeing Stam after Fashionable Istanbul runway, they choose her for another speacial event maybe Turkish Fashion Media is obsessed working with her again and again.
in the magazine theres also an editorial called MADEN DEVRİ with Stam
^^Heather Marks has an editorial in Vogue Turkiye. My favorite photograph^^
My copy of Vogue Turkiye in weekday.
